Konnichiwa
"Konnichiwa" has 5 syllables as ko-n-ni-chi-wa (こんにちは).
Note: Hiragana uses "は ha" for the sound "wa" in "konnichiwa", because this particular "は ha" is used as a particle in Japanaese. "Konnichi" means "today" and "wa" means "as for...". We will learn this more in Hiragana Hub.

Arigotō
"Arigatō" actually has 5 syllables as a-ri-ga-to-u (ありがとう).
"o·u" become "ō" in Roumaji.

Sayōnara
"Sayōnara" has 5 syllables as sa-yo-u-na-ra (さようなら).
Again, "o·u" become "ō" in Roumaji.

Let's write and say "pen" in Japanese!
Pen
"Pen" has 2 syllables as pe-n (ペン).
Let's say pe-n! Remember, "n" has the nasal sound.
Now, Let's say "pen" in natural speech!
Let's write and say "tickets" in Japanese!
Kippu
"Kippu" has 3 syllables with a small "つ tsu" between "き ki" and "ぷ pu" as "ki-tsu-pu" but write with a double consonant ki-ppu (きっぷ).

Tēburu
"Tēburu" has 3 syllables with a long "e" and it's a Katakana word (means the work came from foreign word). And it uses "-" between "te" and "bu" as te--bu-ru (テーブル). Don't worry! We will learn this in our Katakana Hub.
